  • Frequently Asked Questions (The Straight Talk)

    1. Is hiring a Private Investigator even legal?

Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: As long as you hire someone licensed by the State of Florida (like us), it’s perfectly legal. We operate strictly within the bounds of Florida Statutes. We aren’t “vigilantes”—we’re professional fact-gatherers. If a task involves breaking the law, we won’t do it. We look terrible in orange jumpsuits.

    2. Can you guarantee you’ll find what I’m looking for?

We can guarantee we will look. We can guarantee we will be thorough. We cannot guarantee that the truth will be what you want it to be. If you think your spouse is cheating and they are actually just spending four hours a day at a competitive knitting club, that’s the report you’re going to get. We provide the facts, not “fan fiction.”

    3. How much is this going to cost me?

Investigative work isn’t a “flat fee” world because every case is a different puzzle. We typically work on a Retainer + Hourly Rate basis. You’ll know exactly what the hourly rate is, what the mileage costs are, and where your money is going. No “mystery fees,” no surprise bills—just transparent professional services.

    4. Will the “Target” find out they are being watched?

If they find out, we aren’t doing our job right. We pride ourselves on being the most boring, invisible car on the block. We use high-end equipment so we can keep a respectful (and tactical) distance. Discretion isn’t just a buzzword for us; it’s our entire business model.

    5. Can you hack into someone’s phone, email, or social media?

No. That’s a great way for both of us to end up in federal court. While movies make it look like we just press a “hack” button, real-life privacy laws are very strict. However, we are experts at finding information that people voluntarily (and often accidentally) leave behind in the digital world.

    6. Do you really spend all day sitting in a car?

Yes. Sometimes it’s hot, sometimes it’s raining, and the coffee is almost always lukewarm by hour six. But that’s where the “gold” is found. Patience is our primary tool; we sit so you don’t have to.

  • Our Services: More Than Just Binoculars and Bad Coffee

We don’t own a red Ferrari, and we rarely wear Hawaiian shirts on the job (it’s bad for the “stealth” part of surveillance). What we do provide is a suite of professional investigative services rooted in years of court-appointed experience and a deep understanding of the legal landscape.

    Discrete Surveillance

The “Professional Car-Sitting” Special. Whether it’s a domestic matter, an insurance claim, or a suspicious “injured” employee, we provide the eyes and ears you can’t. We specialize in the 90% of the job that isn’t in the movies: sitting under a Magnolia tree for twelve hours to get that thirty seconds of high-definition truth.

    • What you get: Time-stamped video/photo evidence and a log so detailed it’ll tell you what the target had for lunch.

    Legal Genealogy & Deep-Dive Research

The Digital Hunt. Ashley spent years as an “Officer of the Court,” and he knows that the best evidence isn’t always found on a street corner—it’s found in a dusty archive or a hidden digital trail. We dig through records, social media, and databases to build a factual map of a person’s history.

    • What you get: Comprehensive background reports that go light-years beyond a $19 “People Search” website.

    Skip Tracing & Locating

World-Class Hide-and-Seek. People are remarkably good at disappearing when they owe money or have a court date. Luckily, we’re better at finding them. Drawing on Ashley’s history of “resetting” lives in Atlanta and trucking across the Panhandle, we know the spots where people try to blend in.

    • What you get: A current address, a place of employment, or a definitive “here they are.”

    Notary Services

You know what’s harder than tracking a skip in a Panama City Beach rainstorm? Finding a notary who is actually at their desk when you need one.

I’ve spent my life in “reset” mode—from the driver’s seat of a semi, and now behind the lens as a Private Investigator. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life doesn’t happen on a bank manager’s schedule. That’s why I took my Notary Commission and put it on wheels.

As a Mobile Notary Public, I bring the stamp to you—whether that’s your kitchen table, your law office, or the tailgate of a truck. You don’t have to fight traffic or wait in a lobby for someone to finish their lunch break. I show up, I verify the facts (it’s a habit from the PI side of the house), and we get your paperwork legalized so you can get back to your life.

Whether it’s a real estate closing, a power of attorney, or a sworn statement that needs that official seal, I handle it with the same professional “straight-talk” that defines A.E. Wright Investigations. It’s not flashy, and it’s certainly not Magnum P.I., but it is efficient, legal, and done right the first time.

    The “PI Counselor” Consult

Deciphering the Facts. Sometimes you don’t even know what you’re looking for yet; you just know something is off. We sit down with you, look at the crumbs of information you have, and help you decide if an investigation is even worth your money. We’d rather lose a client than take a case that leads nowhere.

    Ready to get the facts?

The truth doesn’t always go down easy, but it’s always better than the “not knowing.” If you’re in Bay County, Walton County, or the surrounding areas, let’s talk.

Hi Ashley, here is what I was talking about with the game. This was a quick put-together based on the info that was given to me by a close friend. Click here to read it.

This is, of course, a quick put-together based on the info about a case that I had. We could customize it or do multiple games.
